Cardwright runs entirely on your device and has no backend. The short version: your cards never leave your device.
Cardwright has no server, no account, no analytics, and no tracking. We (the developer) never receive any data from you. The extension makes no network requests.
When you click the Cardwright icon, it reads the text you have selected on the current page (via Chrome's activeTab permission), so it can turn that selection into a flashcard. This happens only on the tab you click, only at that moment. The extension has no standing access to any website and reads nothing else from the page.
Your decks and cards are saved only on your device using Chrome's storage API. They never leave your machine, are stored per device/profile (they do not sync across machines), and can be cleared by removing the extension. TSV/CSV files you export are saved by you, to your own computer, when you choose to.
activeTab — read your text selection on the tab you click, at that moment.scripting — inject the one-shot, read-only selection capture into that tab.storage — keep your decks and cards locally."Anki" and "Quizlet" are trademarks of their respective owners. Cardwright is an independent tool that exports files in formats those apps can import; it is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
