PriceLens is built to be private by design. It does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal or browsing data.

What PriceLens does

PriceLens converts prices shown on web pages — only on sites you explicitly enable — into your chosen home currency, and shows the original price when you hover. All detection and conversion happen locally in your browser.

Data we collect

None. PriceLens has no account, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. We do not collect your browsing history, the pages you visit, the prices on them, or any personal information.

Data stored on your device

The following is stored locally in your browser (via Chrome's storage API) and never leaves your device except as noted below:

Network requests

PriceLens makes exactly one kind of network request: fetching public daily exchange rates from:

These requests contain no personal data and no information about you or the pages you visit — they only ask for the current exchange-rate table. Exchange rates are provided by ExchangeRate-API.

Permissions

PriceLens requests page access per site, only when you enable it on that site. It does not request access to all your websites at install. It automatically stays disabled on banking, brokerage, wallet, and checkout sites.
