Specklens runs entirely on your device and has no backend. The short version: it reads nothing off your pages and nothing leaves your browser.

The developer collects nothing

Specklens has no server, no account, no analytics, and no tracking. We (the developer) never receive any data from you. The extension makes no network requests of any kind.

What the extension does

When you enable a guide, Specklens injects an overlay (a column grid, baseline grid, spacing outlines, or a measurement line) onto the page you are viewing, via Chrome's activeTab permission — only on the tab you click, only at that moment. It draws on the page; it does not read or extract the page's content, and the measurement uses only on-screen coordinates you click. No host permissions are requested.

What is stored

Your grid settings and presets (columns, gutter, margin, max-width, baseline size) are saved only on your device using Chrome's storage API. This never leaves your machine and can be cleared by removing the extension.
